Safety, training, proper maintenance and real-time communication are critical elements of running an effective trucking operation. Our President, Vince Tarantini states, “As our company has evolved from a few trucks to nearly 100, we created the processes necessary to run a more professional and efficient trucking operation. We owed it to our customers and ourselves to get it right… the first time. We invested in great people, technology, training, equipment and most importantly, ensured we created a safe environment for our people and our customers’ LTL and truckload requirements”.
We have made industry leading technology and environmental sustainability a priority at Carmen. We were well ahead of the curve in purchasing fuel saving power units with automatic transmission and trailer side skirts. We are part of a select group that also incorporates trailer tails on our long haul cross border equipment. The combination of these elements reduce our carbon footprint significantly and offer fuel savings exceeding 12%.
We keep our fleet up to date and provide incentives to our driving force to participate in regular training. We were early adopters of e-logs to ensure hours of service were properly enforced and our drivers are properly rested behind the wheel. We maintain real-time communication with in cab technology and GPS positioning.
We have an excellent CVOR rating from the Canadian Department of Transport and CSA rating within the United States. We take great pride in our ability to truck our customers’ freight safe and sound, throughout our service area.
